Online promotions by big internet gambling firm have been named in an independent survey as one of the worst examples of intrusive or annoying ads.

The independent research, conducted for by Opinion Matters among 1,046 adults aged 16+, said 85% of 25-34 year-olds say they have LEFT a favourite website because of them.


Other offenders named in the study include Dulux, Ford, Garnier, Halifax and L’Oreal.

Bugbears included ads with loud noises, pop-ups covering web content, and ads that were difficult to close, minimise or click away from.
