Poker’s “better half” is off to Peru later this month for the country’s first GIRLS-ONLY international tournament.
It’s the first in a series of poker competitions resulting from the coming together of the Ladies International Poker Series — LIPS — and the Pro Poker Challenge of America.
Events begin on August 23 at the Casino Atlantic City in Miraflores, Peru, and run until September 1. First off is a super satellite where the winners will get their buy in to every tournament.
The series ends with a buy in of $1,080 over two days.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be expanding into Latin America,” said LIPS Tour founder Lupe Soto.
“This is only the beginning of the new type of poker tourism we’ll be able to offer players. Our goal is to create great poker opportunities and amazing venues in which to play the game as well.”
Sessions will run between 6pm and 6am so the girls will have daylight to Peru’s tourist spots.
Top women’s poker stars Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher are guests of the tournament and will run a poker seminar during the series.
