Americans are being urged to boycott EVERYTHING that comes from Kentucky until a “fascist” plan to seize 141 gambling domain names is scrapped.
Industry insider Sherman Bradley says “a boycott by all gamblers, civil libertarians, and concerned protectors of the Internet of all products of Kentucky, or anything that produces Kentucky tax revenue” will send a message of outrage to state governor Steve Beshear
Protection
Beshear is currently pursuing a case through Franklin County Circuit Court to confiscate the domains of gaming sites operating in Kentucky unless they block access to punters there.
The case will be heard next month.
Beshear has claimed he is protecting Kentuckians — especially children — from “illegal and unregulated activity”.
However, he also says the action is meant to protect legal and regulated forms of gaming in the state, home to the world’s richest horse race, The Kentucky Derby.
Start
But yesterday, Bradley, senior gambling analyst at gaming news site Online Casino Advisory, blasted Beshear’s actions as “myopic, unconstitutional, and illegally protectionist”.
Asked what concerned citizens could do while the legal mess unravels, Bradley said: “ Boycotting Kentucky horse racing, and all Kentucky gambling, would be a great start.
“HitBeshear where it counts, and matters to him, in the wallet.
Effort
“We are calling for a boycott by all gamblers, civil libertarians, and concerned protectors of the Internet of all products of Kentucky, or anything that produces Kentucky tax revenue.
“Until Beshear lifts his fascist order, every effort must be made to hurt the state’s coffers.”
