Las Vegas casino bosses want the legal gambling age SLASHED from 21to 18 in a bid to boost flagging revenues.
Vegas is being squeezed by a dual onslaught of economic meltdown and internet competition with even big names like Las vegas Sands edging towards bankruptcy.
Now an attorney for local casino chiefs has asked state gaming watchdogs for their opinions via a conference on gaming law run by the Nevada State Bar Association.
Laws
While they pointed to concerns about a rise in problem gambling, neither the State Gaming Control Board Chairman nor the Nevada Gaming Commission Chairman rejected the idea on Friday.
Any change in the existing limit would need a new law passed by the State legislature and the signature of the governor.
The current minimum age for gambling in the UK is already 18.
